Resource Management Report
We invite you to comment on the draft Minnesota Resource Management Report (RMR).
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) prepared this report in response to direction from the Minnesota Legislature to evaluate how Minnesota can reduce waste sent to disposal and strengthen materials management systems. The report provides an overview of how waste is currently generated and managed in the state and highlights opportunities to improve how materials are used, reused, and recovered.
The draft report looks at a range of approaches, including reducing waste at the source, expanding reuse and recycling, improving organics management, and addressing gaps in access to services across Minnesota. It also considers the types of infrastructure, policies, and investments that could support progress over time.
The MPCA prepares reports like the RMR to inform future planning, policy discussions, and program development. Public input is an important part of this process.
See the public notice document for public participation options. For more information about waste and materials management in Minnesota, please visit the MPCA website.
Thank you for your feedback. We value your comments and will consider them as we finalize this report.
