Mobile Manor Park Wastewater Treatment Facility - Wastewater Permit
We invite you to comment on the draft wastewater permit for Mobile Manor Park wastewater treatment facility.
Shakopee Acquisition, LLC, applied for a reissued water quality permit for Mobile Manor Park wastewater treatment facility. The facility is designed to treat 12,000gallons per day and discharges to land via drainfield.
The draft permit does not authorize any discharge to surface water. Because the facility is not able to comply with the State Nitrogen Policy, the permittee is required to complete and submit a Nitrogen Analysis and Feasibility Study to determine how the facility will proceed towards compliance. Prior to permit expiration, the permittee is required to submit an Engineering Report or Plan and Specifications for a facility upgrade or a signed written connection agreement plan to another facility.
Water quality permits establish specific limits and requirements to protect Minnesota's surface and groundwater quality. Permits are regularly reviewed and updated as they expire, allowing the MPCA to incorporate new information about the impacts of pollutants on the environment in future permits. Permits are enforced through a combination of self-reporting and compliance monitoring.
