Itasca County Demolition Landfill/MSW Transfer Station - Solid Waste Permit

We invite you to comment on the draft solid waste permit for Itasca County Demolition Landfill/MSW Transfer Station in Itasca County.


Itasca County has applied to add 10 canister locations to their current permit. The county will transfer up to 4,000 tons of municipal solid and demolition waste per year and will recycle electronics, appliances, metals, glass, tires, and single-sort materials.

All active landfills, solid waste, and recycling facilities in Minnesota are required to have a solid waste permit. A solid waste permit is good for 10 years. If conditions change and modifications to the permit are necessary, the MPCA may review and amend the permit.
