Cannon River Watershed - WRAPS Report
We invite you to comment on the draft Cannon River Watershed Restoration and Protection Strategy (WRAPS) Report Update 2026.
The Cannon River Watershed in southeast Minnesota has aquatic recreation, aquatic life, aquatic consumption, and drinking water impairments in 216 water bodies that were assessed as “impaired” or not meeting water quality standards. In addition, some water resources already meeting standards need additional protection.
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) prepares reports that help direct future restoration or protection work. A WRAPS report uses existing reports, monitoring results, and other information to develop strategies for restoring polluted waters and protecting healthy ones.
