Perham Resource Recovery Facility - Air Permit
We invite you to comment on the draft air quality permit for Perham Resource Recovery Facility.
Perham Resource Recovery Facility, located at 201 6th Ave NE, Perham, processes and combusts municipal solid waste to produce steam.
The draft permit reissues the facility’s air quality permit and does not authorize any construction or new emissions. The draft air permit limits particulate matter, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, and several hazardous air pollutant emissions from the waste combustors and requires additional monitoring and recordkeeping for control equipment.
An air quality operating permit is required for certain existing facilities or the construction of new facilities that have the potential to emit a significant level of any regulated pollutant. The permit includes all operating requirements, applicable rules, emission standards, monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting. If additional facility modifications are proposed, the MPCA may review and amend the permit.
