Mississippi River-Grand Rapids Watershed - TMDL Revision

We invite you to comment on the draft revision of the 2019 Mississippi River-Grand Rapids total maximum daily load (TMDL) report.

 

A review of the Mississippi River–Grand Rapids Watershed TMDL report from September of 2019 discovered errors in the Escherichia coli (E. coli) TMDLs for Willow River, Swan River, and Tamarack River. The E. coli wasteload allocations (WLAs) were miscalculated for the Marble Wastewater Treatment Plant, Remer Wastewater Treatment Plant, and Cromwell Wastewater Treatment Plant. The errors include transcription errors and the use of incorrect flows for WLA calculation. This TMDL revision corrects the WLAs for these wastewater treatment plants and updates WLAs for the Nashwauk Wastewater Treatment Plant and Keewatin Wastewater Treatment Plant.
