Omega Demolition Landfill - Solid Waste Permit

We invite you to comment on the draft solid waste permit for Omega Demolition Landfill in Pennington County.


Omega Demolition Landfill has applied for a major modification to the existing solid waste facility permit for its landfill southwest of Thief River Falls, where it buries demolition debris. 

The draft permit modification authorizes the area for demolition debris burial to expand by 3.5 acres to accommodate a total capacity of 262,035 cubic yards.


All active landfills, solid waste, and recycling facilities in Minnesota are required to have a solid waste permit. A solid waste permit is good for 10 years. If conditions change and modifications to the permit are necessary, the MPCA may review and amend the permit.
