Glenwood Demolition Disposal LLC - Solid Waste Permit

We invite you to comment on the draft solid waste permit for Glenwood Demolition Disposal LLC in Pope County.


Glenwood Demolition Disposal has applied for a modified and reissued solid waste facility permit for its solid waste management complex in Glenwood, where it buries demolition debris, transfers mixed municipal solid waste, collects some recyclable items, stores wastes prior to beneficial use, and composts yard waste. 


The draft permit authorizes the area for demolition debris burial to expand by 3.7 acres to accommodate an additional capacity of 432,725 cubic yards. 


All active landfills, solid waste, and recycling facilities in Minnesota are required to have a solid waste permit. A solid waste permit is good for 10 years. If conditions change and modifications to the permit are necessary, the MPCA may review and amend the permit.
