Innovent Air Handling Equipment - Air Permit

We invite you to comment on the draft air quality permit for Innovent Air Handling Equipment in Minneapolis.

Innovent Air Handling Equipment in Minneapolis manufactures custom equipment for heating and cooling applications. The facility emits volatile organic compounds, hazardous air pollutants, and criteria pollutants from a natural gas-fired emergency generator as well as particulate matter and volatile organic compounds from its spray coating process. A panel filter controls particulate emissions from the paint booth.

To make administrative corrections to the facility's air permit, the draft permit includes the existing natural gas-fired emergency generator, which was erroneously omitted; updates the material content restrictions to reflect a material change; and clarifies existing requirements. No construction is authorized by the draft permit.

An air quality operating permit is required for certain existing facilities or the construction of new facilities that have the potential to emit a significant level of any regulated pollutant. The permit includes all requirements for operation and procedures, applicable rules, emission standards, monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting. If additional conditions change and modifications are necessary, the MPCA may review and amend the permit.
