Precision Plating Superfund (decision document) - Remediation

We invite you to comment on the draft decision document for the Precision Plating Superfund site located at 230 Girard Avenue North in Minneapolis.

From approximately 1961 to 2003, Precision Plating occupied the site, where it conducted metal plating operations using trichloroethylene and other solvents for cleaning. Procedures for handling waste solvents were not documented during operations. Trichloroethylene and heavy metal-contaminated soil and groundwater were identified during the site investigation activities as part of the closure process for the facility. The contaminants of concern at the Site are trichloroethylene, trichloroethylene degradation products, and heavy metals such as cadmium, nickel, arsenic, and lead.

The MPCA is seeking written comments from the public before the decision document is finalized. The MPCA will accept written comments until Dec. 12, 2024.
