The MPCA is planning to implement a new strategy to address the presence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances — also known as PFAS or “forever chemicals” — in land-applied biosolids in Minnesota.
The strategy will help the MPCA better understand where and what types of PFAS are being discharged to municipal wastewater treatment facilities, support source identification and reduction efforts that are already under way at many of the facilities, help guide land application decisions for the facilities, and help guide farmers and landowners on decisions related to land application of biosolids.
As part of the stages of implementation, the MPCA is inviting you to provide feedback on the strategy.
