Woods at Eagle Lake - Wastewater Permit
We invite you to comment on the draft wastewater permit for the Woods at Eagle Lake wastewater treatment facility.
The Woods at Eagle Lake Homeowners Association applied for a modified water quality permit for construction at its wastewater treatment facility located in Orrock Township. The facility is designed to treat 14,175 gallons per day.
The draft modified wastewater permit establishes a voluntary construction schedule to install new equipment and convert existing system components to address the ineffective removal of nitrate in the current treatment process and to meet the draft permit’s limit on nitrogen.
Water quality permits establish specific limits and requirements to protect Minnesota's surface and groundwater quality. Permits are regularly reviewed and updated as they expire, allowing the MPCA to incorporate new information about the impacts of pollutants on the environment in future permits. Permits are enforced through a combination of self-reporting and compliance monitoring.
