We invite you to comment on the solid waste management plan for Fillmore County.
Fillmore County submitted a SWMP to the MPCA that proposes an integrated solid waste management system. The SWMP states that over the ten-year planning period of 2024-2033, Fillmore County will:
Generate approximately 16,000 tons of municipal solid waste annually.
Accept waste at the Fillmore County Resource Recovery Center and transfer it to management facilities in the region.
Recycle approximately 44% of municipal solid waste generated in the County through curbside collection and rural drop sites.
Send approximately 1,300 tons of waste to the Olmsted Waste-to-Energy Facility for processing.
Send the remaining waste that is not recycled or processed to one of the following landfills: Winneshiek County Landfill, Central Disposal Landfill, La Crosse County Landfill, and Nobles County Landfill.
Accept Problem Materials at the Fillmore County Resource Recovery Center.
