Le Sueur River Watershed - TMDL/WRAPS Report
We invite you to comment on the draft Le Sueur River Watershed Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Report 2025 and the Watershed Restoration and Protection Strategy (WRAPS) Report Update.
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has identified three new river eutrophication standard impairments and one Escherichia coli (E. coli) impairment not meeting water quality standards in the Le Sueur River Watershed in south central Minnesota. In addition, some water resources already meeting standards need additional protection.
The MPCA prepares two significant watershed reports that help direct future restoration or protection work. A TMDL report addresses impaired waters by establishing the amount of each pollutant that a water body can accept and still meet water quality standards, or the reductions needed to meet the standards. The second report, a WRAPS Report Update, uses TMDL reports, monitoring results, and other information to develop strategies for restoring polluted waters and protecting healthy ones.
