Cirrus Aircraft (Duluth) - Air Permit
We invite you to comment on the draft air quality permit for Cirrus Aircraft.
Cirrus Aircraft manufactures airplanes at its facility in Duluth where it produces emissions primarily from spray painting and coating, abrasive blasting, and cutting.
The draft air permit authorizes the installation of a new robotic saw booth controlled by a fabric filter, two spray booths each controlled by a paint arrestor, one blasting cabinet controlled by a baghouse, one abrasive blast cabinet controlled by a panel filter, and an air makeup unit. Additionally, the draft permit incorporates five existing buildings and the equipment in those buildings. The draft permit does not authorize any increases to existing emission limits.
An air quality operating permit is required for certain existing facilities or the construction of new facilities that have the potential to emit a significant level of any regulated pollutant. The permit includes all requirements for operation and procedures, applicable rules, emission standards, monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting. If additional conditions change and modifications are necessary, the MPCA may review and amend the permit.
