Viracon - Air Permit
We invite you to comment on the draft air quality permit for Viracon Inc.
Viracon manufactures architectural glass at its facility in Owatonna where it produces emissions primarily from coating and adhesive application equipment.
The draft Part 70 permit replaces the facility’s Option 2 capped air permit and authorizes an increase in volatile organic compound and hazardous air pollutant emissions from the existing operations. Additionally, the draft permit establishes limits on the existing coating and adhesive application equipment to reduce volatile organic compound emissions.
An air quality operating permit is required for certain existing facilities or the construction of new facilities that have the potential to emit a significant level of any regulated pollutant. The permit includes all requirements for operation and procedures, applicable rules, emission standards, monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting. If additional conditions change and modifications are necessary, the MPCA may review and amend the permit.
